Overview
This course is designed for electrical workers and those who may be required to perform a rescue from a live low voltage (LV) panel in the workplace. It includes mandatory CPR training and meets the requirements for electrical safety and site compliance in Queensland and across Australia.


Course Outline

Assess and control electrical rescue situations

Identify workplace safety protocols and risk factors

Perform a low voltage panel rescue using proper techniques

Apply CPR and use an AED

Follow electrical safety regulations and procedures

Use safety equipment including insulated gloves and rescue kits

Communicate effectively with emergency services

Document and review the incident in line with WHS guidelines
Pre-course theory may be completed online prior to attending the face to face practical, which reduces the face-to-face delivery time. Consideration is given to previous skills, knowledge and experience for students refreshing an existing or equivalent certificate.
For the standard course – Face to Face minimum duration is 2 hours.
For the express course – Face to Face minimum duration is 30 minutes.
You will be required to have completed HLTAID009 – Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
The Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
