Overview
This advanced-level course is designed for those who may be required to use specialised resuscitation equipment in emergency situations. It includes oxygen therapy, airway management devices, and advanced CPR skills, making it ideal for first responders, workplace first aiders, and staff in high-risk environments.

Pre-course theory may be completed online prior to attending the face to face practical, which reduces the face-to-face delivery time. Consideration is given to previous skills, knowledge and experience for students refreshing an existing or equivalent certificate.

There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Participants must be physically capable of performing CPR on a floor-based manikin for at least two minutes.
This course requires participants to respond to range of first aid emergency situations. This includes the requirement for all participants to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult, child, infant resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
This course is recommended to be updated every three years, with the HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation statement of attainment to be updated annually.
