Overview
This course equips participants with the practical skills and knowledge required to perform aquatic rescues in supervised pool environments. It’s ideal for swim teachers, lifeguards, and aquatic centre staff who need to respond confidently to common water emergencies.


Course Outline

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Face to Face minimum duration is 3 hours.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Learners undertaking refresher training must have previously completed the HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
Learners will be required to provide a copy of their expiring Statement of Attainment (or digital certificate that can be validated) on the day of their face-to-face course.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including performing non swimming and swimming rescues. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
